Plain English Summary

We're a residential general contractor. We collect the information we need to manage your project, coordinate with your insurance carrier when applicable, communicate with you, process payments, and run our business. We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers and parties we need to involve to do the work you've hired us for. You can ask us what we have, correct it, or have it deleted. Details below.

1. Who We Are

SpanglerBuilt Inc. (“SpanglerBuilt,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is a licensed residential general contractor based in Alpharetta, Georgia.

This privacy policy applies to information we collect through spanglerbuilt.com, app.spanglerbuilt.com, our client portal, our contract and project documents, our communications with you, and our use of social media platforms (Meta/Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, information collected automatically when you use our websites and platform, and information from third parties.

Information you give us directly:

  • Contact information — name, email, phone, mailing address
  • Property information — project address, ownership, access instructions
  • Project information — scope of work, selections, photographs, documents
  • Insurance information when applicable — carrier name, claim number, adjuster contact, policy information you authorize us to receive
  • Payment information — processed through our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers; payment processor handles PCI-compliant storage)
  • Communications — emails, text messages, portal messages, voice recordings if you initiate them
  • Account credentials — username and password if you create a portal account

Information collected automatically:

  • Website usage — pages viewed, time on site, referring URL, device and browser information
  • IP address and approximate location (city/region) for analytics and security
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7
  • Application usage — features used, actions taken within the portal, error logs (used to improve the platform)

Information from third parties:

  • Insurance carriers — claim status and payment information you've authorized us to coordinate
  • Social media platforms — when you engage with our content on Meta/Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn, those platforms share aggregate engagement information with us in accordance with their own privacy policies
  • Public records — property records and permit information relevant to our work

3. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide our services — manage your project, communicate with you, schedule work, coordinate subcontractors, deliver materials, perform inspections
  • Coordinate insurance claims — submit and pursue claims and supplemental claims when you authorize us to act with your carrier
  • Process payments and maintain records — invoicing, payment processing, accounting, tax compliance
  • Communicate — send project updates, respond to your inquiries, deliver documents
  • Marketing (with your consent) — share photographs and project examples on our website and social media subject to the consent and approval terms in our contracts
  • Improve our services — analyze usage patterns, debug issues, improve the platform and client experience
  • Legal and regulatory compliance — meet our obligations under Georgia construction law, tax law, and other applicable rules
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as described below. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers that operate our business:

  • Vercel (website and platform hosting)
  • Supabase (database)
  • Resend (email delivery)
  • HubSpot (customer relationship management)
  • QuickBooks (accounting)
  • Knowify (project management)
  • Stripe or equivalent payment processor (payment processing)
  • Cloudflare (DNS and security)
  • Google (analytics, search, mapping services)
  • Anthropic and OpenAI (artificial intelligence services used in our platform for document processing, image generation, and similar features; we do not transmit raw client identifying information to these providers without authorization)
  • Meta and LinkedIn (social media marketing platforms)

These providers process information only on our instructions and under contract.

Other parties:

  • Insurance carriers and adjusters when you have authorized us to coordinate your claim
  • Subcontractors and material suppliers when needed to perform your project (limited to what they need to do their work)
  • Professional advisors — attorneys, accountants, insurance brokers, when needed to operate our business or protect our legal rights
  • Government and law enforcement — when required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others
  • Successors in business — if SpanglerBuilt is acquired, merged, or reorganized, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this privacy policy

We do NOT sell or rent personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Photographs and Marketing

We may use photographs of completed projects for portfolio, website, and social media purposes, subject to the photography terms in your contract with us. Exterior photographs (excluding addresses, license plates, and family members) may be used without per-use approval. Interior photographs and any image showing identifying details require your written approval. We do not use photographs depicting you or your family externally without your express written consent.

6. Age of Users

Our services are for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child, we will delete it.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential site functions (login sessions, security, fraud prevention)
  • Analytics (understanding how visitors use our sites)
  • Marketing (measuring social media campaign effectiveness)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some site functionality.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit, authenticated access, and regular reviews of our security practices. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to maintain it. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide our services and meet our legal obligations:

  • Active project records: throughout the project plus warranty period (typically one year after Substantial Completion)
  • Financial and tax records: seven years (per IRS retention requirements)
  • Marketing photography with consent: until you revoke consent
  • Communications: as long as needed for legal, regulatory, or business purposes

When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it.

10. Your Privacy Rights

You have rights regarding your personal information. We honor these rights for all customers regardless of jurisdiction:

  • Access — request a copy of the information we have about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion — ask us to delete information (subject to our legal retention obligations)
  • Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time

For California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): you also have the right to know what personal information we collect, the purposes we use it for, and the categories of third parties we share it with. We do not sell personal information.

For Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other state residents with comprehensive consumer privacy laws: you have rights similar to those above. Contact us to exercise them.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” above will reflect the latest version. For material changes that affect your rights, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our website.
